What to Expect

Surging demand for residential “triple-play” services and managed enterprise Internet Protocol Virtual Private Networks (IP-VPNs) present huge potential for carriers to generate revenues and reduce operational expenditures. As major service providers worldwide deploy Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH)/Passive Optical Networks (PONs) to provide Ethernet-based broadband access, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) that perform well in a carrier environment are essential.

This webinar presents a detailed examination of the requirements of Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) to fully support video, audio and data services in the era of gigabit PON access.

The webinar will:

  • Discuss FTTH/PON global market trends
  • Present a technical overview of PON architecture, including physical and logical topologies
  • Explore the requirements for triple-play service provision, such as gigabit throughput, end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS), VLAN connectivity, and a carrier-class management platform
  • Examine CPE design requisites for supporting triple-play offerings
  • Describe a typical IPTV service model over an FTTH access network
  • Conclude with a live Q&A session
